London Stock Exchange welcomes US Embassy London

The London Stock Exchange today welcomed U.S. Ambassador Matthew Barzun to celebrate the expansion of the Global Entry program to UK Citizens.  Beginning December 3, British citizens can sign up for Global Entry and enjoy major improvements in their travel to and from the United States.  Members skip queues at U.S. immigration, entering the U.S. within one minute on average.  Members are also eligible for TSA Pre✓®, an expedited departure program at U.S. airports that eliminates the need for members to remove shoes, laptops, belts, jackets and liquid containers as they go through U.S. airport security.

Joining Ambassador Barzun to celebrate Global Entry were UK Secretary of State for Business Sajid Javid, Baroness Karren Brady, football legend Frank Lampard, scientist Professor Brian Cox, multimedia executive Jamal Edwards, and a host of senior business executives.  Many of them are among the more than 3.6 million British citizens who travelled to the United States during the past year.  In fact, more than 125,000 UK citizens travel to the U.S. four or more times per year, conducting important transatlantic business and building the people-to-people ties that are the foundation of our Special Relationship.

The U.S. Embassy thanks the teams at U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the UK Border Force for their close cooperation and hard work to enable this exciting news.  If you are a UK citizen interested in finding out more about Global Entry, follow the U.S. Embassy on twitter @USAinUK or go to https://global-entry.beta.homeoffice.gov.uk/register-to-apply/
