LSEG launches new Palm Oil Tanker Freight Assessment to drive transparency in sustainable fuel trade
LSEG is pleased to announce the launch of its new Palm Oil Tanker Freight Assessment, designed to address shifting market dynamics and foster the growth of the sustainable fuel trade. Developed by LSEG’s Agriculture & Shipping Research teams in collaboration with a panel of leading shipbrokers, this new assessment will provide critical freight rate data to the industry.
Key features of the LSEG Palm Oil Tanker Freight Assessment:
- Route: Straights (2 ports) to Rotterdam
- Cargo Type: Crude Palm Oil and Refined Palm Oil products
- Cargo Size: 40,000 tonnes
- Vessel: MR tanker, IMO2 and IMO3 suitable
- Assessment Frequency: Weekly
- Published: Every Friday after 6:00pm Singapore Time (10:00AM GMT), excluding holidays
- Available on: LSEG Workspace (RIC: PALM-MYNWE-FRG)
The Palm Oil Tanker Freight Assessment is the first in a series of assessments that will cover key trade routes for palm oil, vegetable oils, used cooking oil (UCO), and biofuels. These will be progressively released over the coming months.
This assessment will:
- Enhance market transparency in the vegetable oils and sustainable fuels sectors.
- Provide weekly insights into freight rates for palm oil shipments, helping industry participants navigate emerging regulatory challenges.
