The FTSE Middle East and Africa Extended Index Series is designed to represent the performance of companies located in the Middle East and Africa region. Countries and constituents are selected from the FTSE Global Total Cap Index (part of the FTSE Global Equity Index Series or GEIS) and the FTSE Frontier Index. The FTSE Middle East and Africa Extended Index Series is separate from, but complementary and compatible with FTSE GEIS and the FTSE Frontier Index.
This index series consists of the following indices:
- FTSE Africa Extended Index (eligible countries Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia)
- FTSE GCC Extended Index (covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain)
- FTSE Middle East and Africa ex Israel Extended Index (covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Mauritius, Ivory Coast, Tunisia)
- FTSE Middle East and North Africa ex Israel Extended Index (covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia)
The indices are designed for use as performance benchmarks and for the creation of structured products, index-tracking funds and exchange-traded funds.
