LSEG announces appointment of Donald Robert as a Non-Executive Director and then to succeed Donald Brydon as Chairman after 2019 AGM
Paul Heiden, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Nomination Committee for the Chairman search, said:
“We undertook a comprehensive global search to identify an individual to succeed Donald Brydon as Chairman. We are very pleased that Don Robert will join the Board and become Chairman of the Group next year. Don brings a strong track record in the global financial services sector and a deep understanding of technology, data and analytics that will greatly benefit our business as we continue to adapt to regulatory and technological change. He also brings to the Board significant FTSE 100 experience as a Chairman, Senior Independent and Non-Executive Director.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to warmly thank Donald Brydon for his strong leadership over the past four years, successfully navigating the Group through a period of transformational growth and significant macroeconomic, political and regulatory change. The Group has benefitted tremendously from his vast experience throughout this period. We wish him all the very best for the future when he steps down in May next year.”
Donald Brydon, Chairman, LSEG said:
“I am delighted to welcome Don to the Group and I look forward to working with him over the next few months until he assumes the role of Chairman.
“It has been a privilege to serve as Chairman of the Group. The Group plays a unique role both in London and globally, facilitating capital formation and investment, as well as contributing to financial stability through its risk management business. I am confident the executive team led by CEO David Schwimmer will benefit from Don’s leadership as the Group further develops in the years ahead.”
Don Robert said:
“It is a great honour to be asked to serve as Chairman of London Stock Exchange Group, an iconic institution with a 300-year history at the heart of global financial markets. I join a Group that is performing well, and I look forward to working with the Board and the executive team led by David Schwimmer to continue to develop the business for the future.”
